Java Application Engineer (Java/Spring Boot)

We are looking for a talented Java Application Engineer to develop and maintain internal insurance platforms built primarily on Java and Spring Boot technologies.

• You will be part of a platform team where technical excellence, a strong focus on quality, and cross-role collaboration are expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review code with a focus on quality, maintainability, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team (requirements specialists, QA specialists, application engineers).
• Contribute to shaping the architecture through key decisions and technical documentation.
• Integrate services and shared platforms including messaging systems, BPMN processes, logging frameworks, and telemetry solutions.
• Stay up to date with new technologies, including trends in generative artificial intelligence, and look for opportunities for their practical use.
• Apply security best practices across all delivered code.

Requirements

• Experience with software development across the full delivery lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot technologies.
• Experience with public cloud, especially Microsoft Azure.
• Ability to work primarily in an IDE environment with large, long-lived codebases.
• Nice to have: experience with microservices architecture and API design principles.
• Nice to have: knowledge of database design and optimization.
• Nice to have: knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Nice to have: experience with agile methodologies in development.
• Nice to have: interest in new technologies, including the use of generative artificial intelligence.
